Evansville Federal Credit Union 5320 Weston Road - Evansville, Indiana
MISSION STATEMENT:
"Our credit union came into existence for the financial benefits of its members and we strive to provide the best financial services to meet our membership's needs through competitive rates and quality service." Evansville Federal Credit Union (EFCU) is a community-charter credit union founded in 1961. Formerly known as the Evansville Post Office Federal Credit Union, EFCU gained their community charter in 2002, which means they have the unique privilege of extending membership to anyone who lives or works in Vanderburgh County, Indiana. Their name was modified to "Evansville Federal Credit Union" in 2002 to illustrate the expanded member eligibility. As a credit union, they are different from other financial institutions because they are a not-for-profit cooperative owned by their members. So, instead of maximizing profits for shareholders, they pass them on to members in the form of high-yielding accounts and low-interest loans.
