Energy Systems Group (ESG) has relocated its corporate headquarters to 4655 Rosebud Land in Interstate Office Park. Woodward Development and Construction, Inc. designed and constructed the 12,000 sq. ft. Class "A" office facility. "ESG is a fantastic addition to the park," said Evan Beck, President of Woodward Development and Construction.

"The Woodward Development team is truly honored to be able to serve a local, first-class operation like ESG," said Beck. "ESG is a tremendous compliment to our client base and we are glad to see ESG recognizes the long-term benefits in relocating to a true Class "A" office park, neighborhood setting."

Jim Adams, founder and president of ESG, has followed Evan throughout much of his career. "I have known Evan professionally for nine years," said Adams. "I am impressed with the integrity and reputation of the Woodward team."

Adams mentioned that their former space was dated, too small, and that the mechanical HVAC systems were worn out. "We expanded our former space on five separate occasions over ten years and it was time for a fresh start," Adams said. "It was no longer practical to expand. We needed a facility which was larger, nicer and would accommodate our next ten years of growth. We respect and trust Woodward with our future. This new corporate office is a showplace for our organization and some of the energy technologies we install for customers while enhancing the comfort and productivity of our employees."

The new ESG facility is an Energy Star building, which is a designation the Department of Energy presents to buildings that utilize energy efficient lighting, heating, air conditioning, and other technologies while meeting or exceeding industry standards for indoor air quality. The building site has been designed to expand as the needs of the company grow.

Jim Adams started ESG in 1994 and has led the growth of this wholly owned subsidiary of Vectren Corporation to over 140 employees in ten states. Thirty-five employees are located in Evansville at the corporate headquarters and, like its parent company Vectren, ESG is committed to doing its part to help grow Evansville. ESG provides energy performance contracting services primarily for government entities, including city, county, state and federal buildings, schools, universities and hospitals. ESG's main objective is to provide an efficient energy plan by modernizing older, outdated buildings. ESG also builds co-generation "mini" power plants for customers. "These mini power plants make electricity while capturing waste heat to utilize for other energy needs such as heating or air conditioning systems," says Adams. "Utilizing waste heat saves a lot of money and it is very efficient."

ESG is currently remodeling the Old Courthouse in downtown Evansville. They are converting the steam heat to hot water heat; installing air conditioning systems; rewiring all the power outlets, cable lines and phone lines; installing double pane windows; and redesigning other inefficient energy operations. Other local ESG clients include the University of Southern Indiana, the University of Evansville, Bristol Myers, Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation and Brake Supply Company.

Construction on the new ESG building began in November 2004 and was completed in June of 2005.
